New Liverpool signing,Danny Ings says that the real hard work will have to begin now if he is to establish as one of the important players in the Liverpool team.
The striker was signed on a free transfer from Burnley, but he is immediately down on the pecking order due to the presence of Daniel Sturridge. The former Chelsea striker will undoubtedly be preferred as the number one choice when fit. Liverpool have managed to sign Ings on a free transfer but they will have to come up with a compensation fee with Burnley since he is less than 24 years old.
Ings says that he is extremely pleased that his career has been going on an upward trajectory path. The England U21 star started out at Bournemouth before moving to Burnley in 2011 for around £ 1 million. He has also spent time on loan at Dorchester Town. Playing for Liverpool means a lot when compared with these clubs, who are much lower down in the league table. However, it also brings a lot of pressure andIngs is prepared to cope with it by working hard. Last season, the 22-year-old finished the campaign with 11 goals in 35 appearances for the relegated team.
“Words can’t describe the move that I’ve got for myself. At the same time, I’ve worked my way up from the bottom so it’s even more special for me. It’s a challenge I’m really looking forward to. I’ll never get complacent with anything like that. Now I’ve got that move obviously I’ll work even harder to get into that team and be the best professional I can be. I would make sure I am established before taking any of those numbers – it is such a huge club. That was the thinking behind it,” said Ings.
