French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have turned their attention to Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane as they look to secure the next available option in case, star attacker, Kylian Mbappé refuses to sign a contract extension at the French club. Mbappé has been making headlines recently following reports that he is refusing to sign a new deal at the club after it was earlier reported that he could be sealing a move to Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer.
Mbappé’s current Paris Saint-Germain contract is set to expire at the end of the summer of 2022 and if the club refuse to sell him this summer, they stand a huge risk of allowing him to leave on a free next summer. And that’s why they have been looking for several alternatives, with the list of potential replacements being toppled by Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane.
Kane is said to be currently frustrated with the turn of events at Tottenham and has reportedly made it clear that he will be looking to seal a move away from the London side if they fail to qualify for Champions League football next season.
PSG will reportedly not sell Mbappé for anything less than £150 million, just about the same amount Tottenham want to receive if they are to listen to offers for their star striker Kane. That being said, if Mbappé leaves the club and joins Madrid for that fee, the French side could use the cash and try to get Kane as his replacement.
